Geography

Geography in the Montessori classroom introduces children to the physical and cultural world around them. Through hands-on materials, children develop an understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of our world.

Our geography curriculum covers:

Land and water forms — islands, lakes, peninsulas, and more
Continents and countries using puzzle maps
Cultural studies — traditions, foods, music, and clothing of different cultures
The globe and understanding our planet
Flags and symbols of nations
Basic physical geography — mountains, rivers, oceans
